Alexander-Arnold explains Liverpool tactics
Trent Alexander-Arnold praised Jurgen Klopp’s ability to get the best out of his players, as the side’s defender played a key role in Liverpool’s 3:2 win over West Ham.
The current Premier League leader was forced to overturn Monday’s second-half deficit to take his 18th consecutive Premier League victory, equaling Manchester City’s record in the competition.
Alexander-Arnold played a key role in this victory, assisting on a goal scored by Sadio Mane in the 81st minute, while also arching for the first goal of the match at Anfield, scored by Georginio Wijanaldum.
“We have coaching instructions, we have a game plan and a way to play football,” Arnold told Sky Sports.
“Not every match is the same. Opponents are organized in different ways, which means that we too must use different tactics. But the coach gives us freedom, he understands the qualities of his players.”
“This is a very big thing for us. It gives us the freedom to go out on the field and express ourselves as much as we can.”
“We are an offensive team. We want to create opportunities and score goals, hurt our opponents. The best way to do that is to send players forward in attack and create as many cases as possible.”
