Ancelotti: I take responsibility, but I don’t play on the field

Napoli recorded the eighth consecutive game without a win, sixth in the championship, as they lost tonight with a 1-2 upset against Bologna. The result has disappointed coach Ancelotti, who complained after the match at the press conference.

“This team did not manage to maintain the same performance, as today we were quite different from three days ago in the Champions. Tomorrow I will talk to the boys to see what goes wrong, as in such cases a great deal of responsibility rests with the coach and I have to find a solution. If the players help me, it’s better, but otherwise I’ll do it alone,” Ancelotti said.

The Napoli coach went on to say that this season his team is not functioning in terms of collectivism, while adding that the players are suffering the same difficult situation.

“I take a great deal of responsibility normally, but we need to know that the players come down the field, so they have to do their job. We made changes to the team last season, but this year the collective spirit is not working. However all the players are suffering this situation, so we all have to find a solution,” said the Napoli coach.
