Bale: The law requires me to return to Real Madrid
Gareth Bale has explained the comments for the future before the expiration of his loan deal at Tottenham, insisting that his contract implies that legally he must definitely return to Real Madrid first.
Bale’s one-year loan deal at Tottenham expires at the end of this season and there is no option in the agreement between the two clubs that would allow the London club to buy him from Real Madrid after the end of the season.
The Welsh winger grabbed the front pages of sports newspapers when he said last week that he intends to return to the Santiago Bernabeu, but has now explained that he has not yet made a final decision on where he will play in the 2021/22 season.
“I think for me, I have to finish this season first and I have a lot of games to play until Euro 2020,” said Bale.
“Of course, my contract legally says that I have to return to Real Madrid, I have emphasized this, which does not offend anyone. Legally I have to do this.” he underlined.
