‘Ballon d’Or’, list of 30 candidates

The award for best player in the world for 2019, the ‘Ballon d’Or’, will be shared this evening in Paris, with Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk and Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo in the race to win it.

Lionel Messi is the top favorite to win the ‘Golden Ball’ for 2019 after a great season with Barcelona.

According to world media reports in recent weeks, the Argentine has in fact already been selected as the winner of the most prestigious individual award in football.

Among the 30 candidates, revealed in October, is not the man who ended Messi and Ronaldo’s 10-year reign, Luke Modric.

Liverpool have the most players among the 30 candidates, followed by Manchester City, Barcelona…
