Barcelona closely followed the Naples duo
Spanish champions Barcelona are reportedly keeping records for Napoli duo Kalidou Koulibaly and Fabian Ruiz.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, football director Eric Abidal went to Italy over the weekend to watch Napoli’s match with Lecce to watch the players closely.
Ruiz made his first appearance with Spain in June and made good impressions in his first Serie A season – scoring seven goals and providing three assists – after a € 30m transfer from Real Betis last summer.
The 23-year-old is said to be ‘non-transferable’ for Napoli, but the report adds that they will hear high bids for the player and may be attracted by bids of over 70m euros.
Central defender Koulibaly is said to have been on the Blaugrana’s long-wanted list as he continues to make a good impression on both Napoli and his Senegalese national team.
The defender is said to have been a favorite for the club at the time they lost the battle to Matthijs de Ligt, who joined Juventus from Ajax this summer.
