La Liga
Barcelona’s endless casting
Barcelona need a new striker and need to get La Liga permission for the emergency purchase of a number 9 off-season, as Ousmane Dembele has been operated on and will be absent for six months.
On Wednesday evening, the Catalan club gave up the acquisition of Willian Jose and replaced Loren Moron in his striker list.
Barcelona went everywhere, from Rodirgo Moreno to Chimy Avila, to Cedric Bakambu to Willian Jose, but did not find his man.
Now, the name that tops the list is Loren Moron, as Barca coach Quique Setien has worked with him in the past at Real Betis.
Loren
Although Barcelona have good relations with Betis, it is unlikely that the latter will sell the striker now that the footballers’ deadline has expired.
He has a release clause worth 40m euros, which Barça would like to negotiate.
Lucas Perez
Although Perez is not the first choice, the Catalan club has not diminished interest in him.
It would cost Barca 15m euros, though Alves would not show willingness to negotiate his price.
Angle Rodriguez
Based on the words of Getafe president Angel Torres, Rodriguez would be the player Barcelona would have the easiest to buy, as he has a 10 million-euro release clause.
Luis Suarez
Suarez is probably Barca’s last option. The Colombian striker is on loan at Real Zaragoza from Watford.
As a 23 year old, though, he may be an option for the future as well.
