Bayern Munich beats the competition, signs with the defender of Leipzig
Despite being followed for months by Liverpool, 22-year-old French defender Dayot Upamecano will not leave the Bundesliga, having reached an agreement with Bayern Munich to transfer there at the end of the season.
The Bavarians have defeated the competition of Liverpool, after convincing the player to sign for 5 seasons with them and at the same time Leipzig, in whose coffers will spend a full 43.5 million euros for the quarterback’s card.
Dayot Upamecano is playing his fourth season with Leipzig and his form has been steadily increasing, while the stability shown, attracted the attention of many major European teams.
The news of the purchase of the 22-year-old French defender was given by the Bavarian manager Hasan Salihamidzic himself, who confirmed that all the details have already been settled and that only the end of the season is expected for Upamecano to be transferred to Munich.
“I can confirm that Dayot Upamecano will play with Bayern Munich starting next season. We had interesting discussions for several months and in the end, the footballer, his family and his managers are convinced that Bayern Munich is the right club to pursue a career.” said Salihamidzic.
In this way, Bayern executives also find the successor of the Austrian David Alaba, who refused the renewal of his contract, which expires at the end of the season and will leave in June from the newly announced world champions.
