Chelsea would seriously endanger Barnsley’s gate for the first time in the 20th minute through Abraham.

The English striker did not properly accept the ball and crashed into the area. He complained about the penalty but the referee and VAR did not think so.

At the end of the first half, again Barnsley risked and again it was Brittain who was close to the goal. His shot ended a few millimeters away from the left pillar.

Callum Hudson-Odoi proved to be extremely dangerous in the 58th minute of the match until Chelsea started the second half of this meeting much better.

The other dangerous case Chelsea had a few minutes later with Rudiger who had a good chance near the white penalty spot, but his shot ended up outside.

Two minutes later the goal would come.

Reece James would have put his team up another goal on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide.

Barnsley played better in the following minutes.

They were very close to equalizing in the 78th minute through Michael Sollbauer, who made a shot from a difficult position but which turned out to be dangerous and could end up in goal if they were not perceived by the Chelsea defenders.

Chelsea will join teams such as AFC Bournemouth, Manchester United, Manchester City, Leicester City, Sheffield United, Everton and Southampton in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
