De Bruyne: “Yes, we can beat Real at ‘Santiago Bernabeu’ “

De Bruyne believes Man City can beat Real on Wednesday in the Champions League…

After negative Premier League results, over 20 points behind Liverpool in the title race, and after UEFA’s two-year suspension from the Champions League – Manchester City’s only goal now this year is to move on finally the Champions.

To do so, Pep Guardiola’s team must defeat the best and the road to the final will have Real Madrid first.

On Wednesday, from 9pm, the two teams that have faced each other in the past go down to the ‘Santiago Bernabeu’ in a very meaningful match for both teams.

City play to save honor, Real to leave behind a negative week since +3 points with Barcelona, ??has gone to -2 and in case of a loss to El Clasico on Sunday, the difference would go to five points – which means that just like last year, this edition may be left out of the title race.

Either way, Wednesday is another race, another match and both teams have the chance to win.

Even Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne believes Pep Guardiola’s team could win at the Santiago Bernabeu as well.

“Real Madrid have won the Champions League more than anyone else, but we go with the idea of ??playing our game, as we always do – trying to play offensive football, put pressure, play well and yes, we can win”, said the Belgian.

“I, my friends, all in the club want to fight to the end for this title. But to get there, you have to face these teams. You have to beat Real Madrid, Barcelona, ??Bayern Munich … you have to eliminate the biggest if you have to win.”
