Di Maria: I’ve played with Messi, Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic & Rooney – Leo is the best

Paris Saint-Germain’s Angel Di Maria has played with some of the best players of his generation during his career with Real Madrid, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Argentina. Of all his teammates, he calls Lionel Messi the best.

Argentinean Angel di Maria called Santiago Bernabeu home for four years, 2010-2014, during which he played alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and won the Champions League, La Liga and King’s Cup titles.

After this period came a disappointing one at Manchester United, but the Argentine had the opportunity to enjoy playing and training with the best English scorer in history, Wayne Rooney, whom he greatly appreciates.

And while Di Maria admits that it was a dream for him to play alongside some of the best players in modern football, he kept the biggest praise for his compatriot, Messi.

“It was a dream for me to have the opportunity to play with Wayne Rooney, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Cristiano Ronaldo, Leo Messi…they are great players to choose from on PlayStation and I never imagined I would play with them”, said Di Maria.

“I watched their games and the fact that I had the opportunity to play with them is very good for me. Leo is the best of the four, Cristiano is the beast and Neymar is just fun for football. He’s Brazilian and when he plays he just has fun.”
