Dortmund star mocks Hazard: I went to Real’s training and injured Eden again
Borussia Dortmund defender Thomas Meunier has dismissed suggestions that his harsh intervention against Eden Hazard in 2019 is the reason for the Belgian’s ongoing injury problems since then.
Meunier injured his compatriot during a Champions League match with his former club PSG against Real Madrid two years ago and since that day, Hazard has not seen good days anymore.
Speaking to RTBF, Meunier was asked if he thinks Hazard’s ongoing problems with injuries are a consequence of his intervention.
“Yes, it is,” Meunier replied ironically.
“I went to Real Madrid training last week and made another harsh intervention against Hazard.” he said ironically.
Regarding the 2019 incident, he stressed: “I felt very sad. I tried to contact Hazard immediately after the match, but I could not reach him. I hope it is not something serious. I never wanted to hurt him. ”
