Gasperini: Second place, great achievement for Atalanta
Gian Piero Gasperini wants Atalanta to ‘defend’ their position in Serie A while hosting Sassuolo.
La Dea is second after 33 games, two points behind Napoli, Juventus and Milan, and Gasperini said it would be a ‘great achievement’ for Atalanta to be second behind Inter.
“It is certainly a great achievement, but everything is very temporary,” Gasperini told the club’s official website.
“To defend this position, we have to keep playing good games. We had a great week, but anything can change within a match.”
“Distances are short, but it is also true that if we do not make mistakes, others will not catch up with us.”
Five teams in Serie A are fighting for the remaining three places that send them to the next edition of the Champions League.
