Guardiola: We have to be ourselves in the return match to reach the final

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has called on his players not to go out of their style to play their game in the return leg, following a 2-1 win over PSG in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Wednesday.

Marquinhos put PSG ahead early in the first half, but City improved significantly in the second half and equalized through Kevin De Bruyne, whose cross stunned everyone, including goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

Riyad Mahrez then used a space in the PSG wall to penetrate the ball from the free kick beyond Navas, giving City a 2-1 lead before the return match next week.

Manchester City have never reached a Champions League final and this is only the second time they have reached the semi-finals, the first under Guardiola.

“All I want is to be ourselves in the return match. We are good when we play a certain way and therefore we can not play another way.” said Guardiola.

“I hope we will find the right words and the right decisions to do this.” he added.
