Hertha starts talks with Granit Xhaka
Hertha Berlin has begun talks with Granite Xhaka about the possible return of the Arsenal midfielder to the Bundesliga.
According to RMC Sport, Hertha failed to buy Lyon midfielder Lucas Tousart – after the latter had rejected the German club – and has now decided to transfer the unwanted Jack to Arsenal.
Hertha had made a € 20m bid for Tousart, which was rejected immediately.
The German club have given up on the Frenchman and have now turned their attention to the Swiss international and Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka.
Hertha’s new coach, Jurgen Klinsmann, is set to bring Xhaka to the squad in January.
The departure of Xhaka from the Premier League giant has seemed more than likely since his clash with Arsenal fans in October and the loss of the captain’s stripe as a result.
Xhaka knows the German Bundesliga well, having been part of Borussia Monchengladbach before joining Arsenal.
