Jamie Carragher says that the defenders of Arsenal do not know what they are doing
Arsenal defenders look lost and no idea in their disastrous appearance in the 3-0 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday in the Premier League, according to former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher.
Arsenal conceded three goals in the first half at the Emirates, allowing Manchester City to gain more ease.
Freddie Ljungberg’s side have conceded just five goals less than their last Premier League team, Watford, and have kept the goal intact in just two games all season.
“Every time the opponent attacks Arsenal, his defenders pull back. Something has to change about this in training. They have to keep the line and put pressure. They pull back when they have to put pressure and they pressure when they have to pull back,” Carragher said.
“They have no idea what they’re doing,” he added.
After this loss, Arsenal rank ninth with 22 points, just seven points away from the relegation zone.
