Jose Mourinho quizzes reporter over Bruno Fernandes transfer saga
Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has mocked his former club, Manchester United, over the saga of the transfer of Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon.
The Portuguese coach commented on Manchester United’s attempts to transfer Bruno Fernandez after Tottenham’s 2:1 win over Norwich City in the Premier League.
He criticized his former club, from whom he was sacked in December 2018 after being asked about the future of Fernandes, who has been rumored for a possible transfer to Tottenham.
“Then … Bruno Fernandes is coming to Manchester United, right? You went to Lisbon for this and he’s not coming? Is it coming or not?” Mourinho said, making fun of Sky Sports reporter.
Fernandes remains at the center of ongoing speculation about a possible move to Manchester United from Sporting, though Tottenham have also been speculated as a possible destination.
Manchester United, meanwhile, suffered their eighth league loss this season, losing 2:0 to Burnley at Old Trafford. Burnley secured the win thanks to goals scored by Chris Wood and Jay Rodriguez, thus securing their first victory at Old Trafford since 1962.
The pressure continues to mount on coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has suffered more losses (12) than has scored a win (11) since being appointed permanent coach of the Red Devils.
