Juventus, the first to wish Inter the title
Juventus is the first Serie A club to wish Inter the Serie A title for the 2020/21 season.
Juventus had won nine consecutive titles in the last nine years in Serie A but failed to win the tenth in a row with Andrea Pirlo on the bench.
The man who started this winning cycle of Juventus in 2011/12, Antonio Conte, ended the dominance of the whites this season as coach of Inter.
Despite everything, Juventus took the trouble to be the first to congratulate their rival for this year’s title.
“Congratulations to Inter on winning the Serie A 2020/21 title,” Juventus wrote on Twitter.
Antonio Conte’s Inter won the title in the 2020/21 season also mathematically, after the draw of Atalanta 1: 1 with Sassuolo on Sunday.
Inter beat Crotone 2-0 on Saturday, aware that Atalanta’s failure to beat Sassuolo the next day would make them Italian champions, four games before the end of the season.
The Nerazzurri have collected 82 points at the top of the table in Serie A, 13 more than Atalanta in second place and Milan in third place.
This is Inter’s first title since the 2009/10 season, when it was last won under Jose Mourinho.
While, for Conte this is the fourth title in his career as a coach, the first with Inter, after he had won three others with Juventus.
