Klopp forgot how many points ahead Liverpool are in the league
Coach Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he had forgotten how great his team was over opponents in the Premier League race, ahead of Thursday’s win over Wolves.
A goal scored in the 84th minute of the match by Roberto Firmino gave Liverpool a 2-1 victory over the Wolves and a 16-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.
But Kloppi said he had forgotten the big difference in points because of the match-laden agenda.
“When was the biggest pressure on us this year or last year? People are like that. I don’t think about it,” Klopp replied after the match when asked about pressure on his team.
“I had to ask somebody how far ahead we are, that’s the truth. I really forgot during the week, due to the large number of matches. I hadn’t thought about the points.”
“We want to win football matches and we have the same goal since I came here a few years ago. This is real pressure and yes, I feel that. Besides, I don’t think about anything. It’s just football.”
