Serie A
Lautaro: “Proud of classification, but we still have work to improve”
Lautaro Martinez is increasingly the leader of Inter, in terms of leadership. With six accomplishments, the Argentine is the top scorer in all of Serie A for the first 30 minutes of the match, with the yellow jersey finding the goal in 12 consecutive challenges, including those in the Champions League.
The Nerazzurri’s number 10 refuses to talk about the personal aspect and after winning with SPAL stated: “In the first half we played very well because the defense stayed up and the wing players were extra attackers. In the second half we lost a few meters, but as long as we played, there is the possibility of showing signs of fatigue.
AIM
Lautaro’s goals could prove to be a good start for the Inter side because in the last four cases that have been declared champions, every time Inter are in the first place after 14 weeks of the championship, they have lifted the trophy at the end of the season. The striker accepts Inter’s goals as he explains to the media: “I think we generally gave a good performance. We won and that is the aspect that matters most. We are proud of being first in the rankings, because this is also the primary objective we work for. We want to win more and show that we are at the height of Inter’s shirt.
GROWTH
Goals are another specialty of Inter, but also of Lautaro, who does not have the height of his strength. Nerazzurri are the team that has scored the most goals in the current Serie A, but Inter’s number 10 requires growth in another aspect: “We still need to grow as a team. Matches should be closed early, especially when opportunities are not lacking. We need to be careful about the details. We want the good of Inter and try to score whenever I am in the right position.”
