Lewandowski surpasses Raul and becomes the third top scorer in the Champions League

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has become the third best goal scorer in the history of the Champions League, after the goal he scored in the victory against Lazio on Tuesday.

The Pole opened the scoring after just nine minutes in Bayern’s 4-1 win over Lazio in the first leg of the quarter-finals in Rome.

This was Lewandowski’s 72nd goal in the Champions League and makes him surpass Real Madrid legend Raul and rise to third place, behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Only Juventus striker Ronaldo, who has 134 goals so far, and Barcelona star Messi, who has 119 goals so far, have scored more than Lewandowski in this race.
