Man City buys “new Neymar” from Fluminense
Manchester City have confirmed the acquisition of Brazilian “star” Kayky, from Fluminense, for the initial amount of 8.5 million pounds, plus bonuses (the total amount can go up to 15 million pounds), depending on the sporting achievements of the young footballer with the Citizens jersey.
The 17-year-old will stay at Fluminense until the end of the season, before making the move to England, confirmed the leaders of the Premier League through a tweet on Twitter. Kayky, who is compared to the “star” of Brazil and Paris Saint-Germain, Neymar, was also wanted by Liverpool, Shakhtar Donetsk and the main Spanish clubs.
City won the race to sign with the amazing player, who has scored twice in eight appearances with the Fluminense first team, in the league, this year. He also played in the Copa Libertadores group stage against River Plate, a 1-1 draw.
The Brazilian club has also retained a percentage of the player’s card in the event of its future resale. Kayky will join City’s youth squad when he arrives in England, but Pep Guardiola with no doubt wants to keep him.
