Manchester City, one step closer to the title, easily beats Leicester
Manchester City are confidently marching towards the Premier League title, after the easy 2-0 victory against Leicester City on Saturday.
Benjamin Mendy with a goal in the first half and Gabriel Jesus another in the second half secured Pep Guardiola’s team the victory at the “King Power” stadium.
This was the 23rd victory for Man City and the third in a row, which helps them increase their lead at the top of the Premier League to 17 points.
The leader completely dominated Leicester, keeping the ball more in possession and creating more scoring chances.
But it took the visitors almost an hour to break the ice, when left-back Mendy scored for 1: 0 from close range in the 58th minute.
A quarter of a game before the end, Jesus sealed the victory of City after an action that started with an amazing pass of Kevin de Bruyne.
Manchester City now collect 74 points after 31 games, 17 more than Manchester United who have played only 29 games so far.
Leicester City remains in third place with 56 points after 30 games.
