Marca: How long will Messi last?

Messi’s brilliance seems to have no expiration date. He won the Golden Ball for the first time in 2009 and now, ten years later, he has been awarded this award for the sixth time.

A decade has passed and Lionel Messi is still one of the best footballers in the world, leaving fans wondering how much they will see their favorite in this form, writes Marca.

Some fans claim that Messi’s best days are already in the past, but then the Argentine assures Barcelona a victory with his crucial appearances like the one against Atletico Madrid on Sunday and critics remain silent.

The level of his performances has been impressive over the years, but Messi has hinted that he can go on.

Maradona’s 30s

Diego Maradona left Barcelona to become “king of the world”. He won the World Cup in 2986 and grabbed the hearts of fans in Naples, winning two Serie A titles with them.

In the thirties of his life, his form began to decline significantly, though he had already gained the title of “God” in Argentina.
On the other hand, Johan Cruyffin’s form decline began at the age of 27, after he was awarded the Golden Ball.

Pele, from another galaxy

Pele continued her career for longer. He won the World Cup title for the first time at the age of 18 in 1958. 12 years later he won the trophy for the third time and then began to take shape.

However, retirement years differ in other sports. Michael Jordan waited until he was 28 years old for his first NBA title while winning the last title at the age of 35.

Meanwhile, 38-year-old Roger Federer, 33-year-old Rafael Nadali and 32-year-old Novak Djokovic are still leaders in the tennis world.
