Mbappé feels he is not treated the same as Neymar at PSG
The prestigious French newspaper L’Equipe reports that French star Kylian Mbappe is not entirely satisfied with the way Paris Saint-Germain and coach Thomas Tuchel are being treated.
Kylian Mbappe has been in the spotlight for Paris Saint-Germain for the past few weeks. The striker became involved in a tense situation with Thomas Tuchelin when he was replaced at the weekend, and then the coach said the player must respect his decisions.
According to the French newspaper L’Equipe, Mbappe questioned his importance to the team of Paris Saint-Germain during the match against Marseille last season. He was left on the bench for the match, having been delayed in training. At the time, he felt he was not being treated like PSG’s other star, Neymar.
The Brazilian was allowed to recover from a leg injury away from Paris, while no one else in the squad was offered such freedom. His statements after winning the award for best young player did not help the situation.
“I want to have more responsibility in Paris or elsewhere,” Mbappe said.
Tuchel has always made it clear that Neymar is a key player in his project and these messages have made Mbappe feel left out and left him uncertain about his future in Paris.
The relationship between the player and the coach is at a critical point. Any decision the German coach makes now will have a major impact, as Real Madrid are trying to tempt the French footballer.
Mbappes and PSG representatives are nowhere close to reaching a contract renewal deal and as he feels underappreciated at PSG, many clubs will try to transfer the Frenchman.
