“Messi has helped me since day one”
Arthur Melo has revealed that Lionel Messi has greatly helped him adapt to Barcelona since the first day of his Gremio arrival in the summer of 2018.
Melo is recovering from some physical problems that have made him unable to play regularly and without hassle in recent games.
Speaking in an interview on the YouTube channel Fui Clear in his homeland, Brazil, the 23-year-old midfielder said he admires his captain at Barcelona. He says Messi never wants to be privileged.
“Messi has been helping me since my arrival, especially talking to me in the interview, which was great,” Melo said.
“I adore Messi in the field, but also out of it because he never wants to have privileges and although he has authority he does not want to impose it. He may seem a closed type but if you know him in private life, he is extraordinary,” he added.
