Messi: La Liga has become more complicated

Lionel Messi believes that the gap between Barcelona, ??Real Madrid and other La Liga clubs has diminished significantly over the past decade, making the Spanish elite league more complicated.

At the moment, Barcelona holds the top spot in the La Liga table with 34 points, just because of the difference in goals with Real Madrid, while Sevilla rank third, with just three points less than the two Spanish giants.

However, to prove the competition in this season of La Liga can be used the example of Real Sociedad, who is in the fourth position, and Granada, in the ninth position, since these two clubs have only three points difference.

Barcelona have lost three and drawn one of their 15 matches this season, while Real Madrid have drawn four and lost one.

Messi thinks these results testify to the strength of other teams in the league that have improved significantly over the last decade.

“Everything is getting more and more equal,” the Argentine striker said during an Adidas company event on Wednesday.

“They have improved over the last few years and we see that there is more equality now, that each team can beat the other team, which makes it even harder to play when you are a guest.”

“Teams have become stronger at home because they know that to achieve their goals, they have to be good at home. This makes the situation more complicated and brings more equality.”
