Messi leaves for Paris with his family

Messi and his family travel to Paris where he is expected to be crowned the ‘Golden Ball’ winner. Cristiano Ronaldo and Virgil van Dijk are the other candidates to win this award for 2019…

Leo Messi is already headed to Paris, in fact, Barcelona’s 10th may have already landed in France for the ‘Golden Ball’ ceremony, after Barcelona posted the video on ‘Twitter’.

Leo was in the company of his wife, Antonella, and the children, Thiago and Mateo.
 
The 32-year-old is the top favorite to win the 2019 ‘Golden Ball’ after a great season with Barcelona. According to world media reports in the last week, the Argentine has in fact already been selected as the winner of the most prestigious individual award in football.

But Van Dijk is expected to make the Argentinean competition stronger tonight in Paris.

Messi and Van Dijk made great appearances last weekend before announcing the winner, showing why they are in a tight race to win the award shared by the prestigious French magazine France Football.

Van Dijk scored two header to secure Liverpool another Premier League victory and consequently maintain the eight point lead at the top of the standings.

Messi made a late but fantastic goal making sure Barca beat Atletico 1:0 and made it to the top of the League, surpassing Real Madrid.

Another goal was scored by other candidate Cristiano Ronaldo in the challenge Juventus equalized 2-2 with Sassuolo.

It is reported that CR7 will not attend the ceremony, other than the media reports that Messi may be close to snatching the ‘Golden Ball’ for the sixth time.
