Milan beats Verona, continues the pressure on Inter
Although there were many big absences, Milan managed to easily defeat Hellas Verona 2: 0 on the trip, keeping Inter under pressure in the title race.
Rade Krunic and Diogo Dalot scored once in each half to secure Stefano Pioli’s team an important victory that keeps them in the title fight.
Verona, who have known how to get a lot of trouble out of big teams this season, never seemed really dangerous to a Milan who could not count on Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Simon Kjaer, Ante Rebic and Hakan Calhanoglu in this match.
Although they held the ball in more possession than the Reds, the locals had only one shot inside the goal frame throughout the match.
Thanks to this victory, Milan approaches the leader and rival, Inter, in only three points, although the Nerazzurri play this week’s match against Atalanta on Monday and can regain the lead in six points again.
Verona, meanwhile, remains in eighth place with 38 points, six points away from qualifying for European competitions.
