Pep Guardiola writes letter to Premier League
Pep Guardiola has once again made it clear how he feels about the Manchester City match schedule over the Christmas and New Year.
The Spanish coach has already admitted that his team is unlikely to win the Premier League this season but wants to focus on securing a place in the Champions League.
Like many teams at this time of year, even Guardiola’s plans are not helped at all by the busy match schedule.
After the 3:1 win over Leicester City on Saturday, the City coach gave him details of his team’s match schedule in the coming days.
“I have written a letter to the Premier League to thank him and we will go straight to the fridge after the Wolves to prepare for the Sheffield United,” Guardiola said.
“I have a break on Sunday, on the 23rd and 24th we have training. On the evening of December 24 we have a break. The morning of December 25 break. Then on the 26th we have training, and on the 27th of December we play against the team of Nunos (Wolves) ”, he added.
The reigning champion is 11 points behind the leader, Liverpool, and ranks third with one point behind Leicester.
