Porto coach: What we did to Juventus must be written in history
Porto coach Sergio Conceicao believes that the fact that his team eliminated Juventus from the Champions League despite playing with one player less should be part of the club’s history.
Porto caused the Italian champion to be eliminated for the second time in a row from this stage of the race thanks to the goals as a guest, as the overall result after two matches was 4: 4.
But Conceicao’s team played with one player less in the return match in Turin for more than an hour.
Conceicao, the former Inter player, believes that what his team managed to do should remain in the history of Porto.
“These matches remain in the history of the club. The players managed to show the essence and the real DNA of Porto. Their extraordinary dedication and the spirit of sacrifice they showed touched me immensely,” said Conceicao.
“I have a group of brave players who interpreted in the best way what we wanted, against a great team with a very high level player,” he added.
