Ronaldo and Nani say Fernandes fantastic!
Rio Ferdinand has announced that both Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani have approved the transfer of Bruno Fernandes to Manchester United and have described him as a fantastic addition to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad.
Bruno Fernandes completed the 55m-euro transfer to Old Trafford from Sporting Lisbon on Thursday – signing a contract that would keep him at the club until 2025.
Manchester United were speculated on the 25-year-old’s transfer last summer, but Solskjaer’s need for a reinforcement in the midfield worsened in January, due to injury to Paul Pogba – Scott McTominay.
The Red Devils have finally succeeded in transferring Bruno Fernandez after weeks of negotiations with Sporting, who could receive another 25m euros in extras if the Portuguese midfielder reaches certain goals.
Ferdinand has revealed that he has consulted with two of his former Manchester United teammates, Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani, about the quality Fernandes can bring to the club.
“I have spoken with some of his team-mates in the club and in the national team. Nani, my former team-mate, says he is a fantastic player, he says he is perfect for England, he says he has all the right attributes, all the tools,” Ferdinand said.
“Cristiano says he’s fantastic and has created a lot of opportunities for him. He can manipulate the ball and take it with confidence. These are the things you want to hear when Manchester United transfer a player.”
