Ronaldo will no longer be allowed to stand on Juventus’ defensive wall

Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo has admitted that Cristiano Ronaldo can no longer be on the team’s defensive wall during free kicks, due to another mistake of the Portuguese in the placement.

Juventus definitely needed a good result against Parma on Wednesday, after the loss against Atalanta a week ago.

But the Whites found themselves at a disadvantage in the first half after Gaston Brugman scored from the free kick, before Alex Sandro scored twice and Matthijs de Ligt once to secure Juve a 3-1 victory.

After a wrong placement on the wall that cost Juventus elimination from the Champions League last month, Ronaldo made the same mistake with Parma’s goal, covering his face and sitting down.

Pirlo was asked after the match if the 36-year-old would leave the post.

“It simply came to our notice then. We have to assess this in the coming days,” Pirlo said.
