Rummenigge “confirms” Alaba’s departure: “Real Madrid is a great club”
David Alaba is on his way to transfer to Real Madrid.
Bayern Munich director Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has somehow confirmed the speculation that David Alaba is in negotiations with Real Madrid.
The player will be free in June and it looks like he will not renew his contract.
“Nothing has been decided so far, but the chances of him leaving the club at the end of the season are around 99.9%,” said Rummenigge.
“Florentino has not contacted us. From January 2, the player is free to sign with whichever club he wants. This are the FIFA rules, this is how business works. I do not know to what extent the negotiations with Real Madrid have advanced, all I know is that they are a great club.”
Alaba was created as a player at Bayern.
So far he has made 411 appearances for the German club, scoring 33 goals.
