Solskjaer not expecting any more new signings at Man Utd

Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said he expects no new transfers to his squad today, before the January deadline expires at 24:00.

The Premier League club have bought just one player this month after completing the transfer of midfielder Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon on Thursday for 55m euros.

Manchester United were reportedly ready to invest in the attacking squad as English striker Marcus Rashfordi will be missing for another two months due to a back injury.

The Red Devils have been rumored to have transferred Bournemouth striker Joshua King, though their first bid for the player was rejected. Today, Sky Sports reported that Manchester United were preparing to make a second bid.

However, coach Solskjaer has attempted to stop the speculation by saying he does not expect new arrivals at Old Trafford today, before the January deadline expires.

“I am not sure, I do not expect any other agreement to be reached. I don’t think anything will happen,” Solskjaer told a news conference.

“Sometimes I say something and something else happens. Sometimes I say I’m happy with a player and he understands the message differently. So I don’t want to help spur speculation today.”

“I don’t expect anything to happen, but that doesn’t mean that nothing will happen.”
