The season for the Arsenal star ends
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Kieran Tierney will not be able to return to play this season, due to the seriousness of the injury.
The full-back has been singled out for the Arsenal squad in a disappointing season for the Gunners, who are facing many difficulties to qualify for European competition next season.
Tierney injured his knee ligament in a match against Liverpool and is not expected to play for Arsenal this season.
Speaking after Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Sheffield United on Sunday, Arteta confirmed the news.
“Kieran is missing, maybe for the whole season, so we need other options in his position,” said Arteta.
Tierney will face off against time to recover for Scotland in the 2020 European Championship this summer.
