Tony criticizes Ronaldo: I was selfish too, but at least I celebrated with my friends
Former Italy and Juventus striker Luka Toni has criticized Cristiano Ronaldo for his attitude and behavior towards his teammates in recent matches.
Toni, who has also played for other clubs such as Palermo, Fiorentina, Roma, Genoa and Hellas Verona, spoke to the Italian newspaper “Tuttosport” about the behavior of the Portuguese striker.
Ronaldo was extremely disappointed after Juventus’ 3-1 win over Genoa at the weekend, after failing to score his own goal.
He left the field alone and vented his anger in the locker room, where he reportedly punched the wall, before leaving the stadium.
“He is very important for Juventus. He is the top scorer, he has scored many goals. But I am not happy with his attitude towards his teammates. “It made me think about the time when I played.” said Toni.
He added: “I was also selfish when I did not score, but I still stayed on the field to celebrate. I have endured the disappointment.”
The World Cup winner played just 15 games for Juventus during his one-year stay in Turin, scoring two goals.
