Champions League
“We do not have Messi and Ronaldo in the team, here everyone makes the difference – we play for victory”
Riyad Mahrez is ready for the challenge between Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League.
He said that the peculiarity of Pep Guardiola’s team is that they play as a team, not dependent on individuals, as for many years teams from Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have been dependent.
The first semifinal of the Champions League between PSG and Manchester City is played tomorrow night in Paris.
“When we go down to the field, we are ready. The Champions League is the trophy we are missing,” he said.
“There is nothing more prestigious in Europe than winning the Champions League. The most important thing is tomorrow’s match, we will do everything to win. I have always said that everyone here is a top player.”
“We do not have big stars like Messi and Ronaldo, but everyone here can make a difference,” he added, among other things.
Mahrez also spoke about the future.
Mahrez is not an undisputed starter for Man City, however he plays considerably and often important matches, both as a starter and as a substitute.
He has a contract with City until 2023.
“I did not think about the future, I love the team and the city. Let’s see,” he replied.
