‘When will this nonsense stop?’: Rudiger wants racists punished

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has called on authorities to find the fans who practiced racism against him at Tottenham Stadium in London and hopes public debate about racism in football will remain in people’s minds.

The Germany international has been the target of racist calls by fans in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Tottenham on Sunday in the Premier League after being involved in a red card incident with Son Heung.

Rudiger informed match officials about alleged racist abuse and consequently fans were urged to improve their behavior.

Hours after the match, the 26-year-old used Twitter to continue the talk of racism in football, hoping that the culprits would be found and punished for their actions.

“It’s sad to see racism in a football match again, but I think it’s very important to talk about it in public. If not, then it will be forgotten within two days as always, ”Rudiger wrote on Twitter.

“I really hope that the perpetrators will be found and punished very soon,” he added.
