Wijnaldum is criticized for not reacting to Real Madrid’s third goal against Liverpool
Fans have asked if Georginio Wijnaldum ‘controller’ was cut off from power, as the Liverpool captain does not seem to react at all to the third goal scored by Real Madrid on Tuesday night.
Liverpool’s hopes of becoming European champions for the seventh time took a heavy hit in the first leg of their quarter-final after Real beat them 3-1 at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano.
Jurgen Klopp’s team was particularly weak in the first half going to the break with a 2-0 disadvantage.
They improved in the second half quickly scoring a goal after the break, but their game fell again and they conceded a third goal.
Vicinius Jr scored his second personal goal and third for the Kings, ending the winner dilemma, while Wijnaldum was blamed for the conceded goal.
The fans were the ones who criticized the Dutch midfielder for not reacting, as according to them he stayed in place and did nothing to prevent or allow the Brazilian to hit the ball.
