A player cannot be distinguished as the best of all time, says Lewandowski
Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has a long list of football stars from the past and present whom he adores, but he can not choose one of the best of all time.
Lewandowski himself can now claim to be rated in the same category as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, as he continues to score uninterrupted goals in the Bundesliga and the Champions League.
His first idol in football was an Italian legend from the past, while even former Arsenal and France striker Thierry Henry had an influence on the Polish striker.
Speaking in an interview with Bild, Lewandowski said a player cannot be singled out as the best of all time.
“No single player can stand out. Players change era.” Lewandowski told Lothar Matthaus, who won the World Cup with Germany in 1990.
“In the last 10 or 15 years Messi, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho. Before them the Brazilian striker Ronaldo. There are always extraordinary talents. The world stars manage to make difficult things seem simple.” he added.
