After losing to Barcelona, Inter lose 12.2 million euros

Inter’s failure to qualify for the Champions League qualifying round will cost the club 12.2 million euros, despite the club breaking records for the most profits from a single match.

Calcio and Finanza reports Inter’s failure to qualify among the top 16 clubs in the Champions League will cost the club 12.2 million euros, which would come from the sale of television rights and UEFA bonuses.

Inter, during the group stage, won 40.7 million euros from the Champions League, but they could earn an additional 2.4 to 5.4 million, depending on the performance of Juventus, Napoli and Atalanta in the race.

Calcio and Finanza reports that Inter will have to win the Europa League and play in the European Super Cup to recoup the money lost in last night’s defeat against Barcelona.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri urged 1,818 fans to come to San Siro Stadium on Tuesday night for the Champions League match against the Spanish giant, thus earning 7.8m euros from the match.

This is a new record in Italy, as the previous record was for the match between Inter and Juventus in October, where € 6.5 million were won by the 75,923 fans in the stadium.
