Allegri heralds the return, amid speculation about Bayern and Arsenal

Massimiliano Allegri has vowed he will not take over as manager of any club in mid-season amid speculation linking him to Bayern Munich and Arsenal.

Italian coach Massimiliano Allegri has been out of work since parting ways with Juventus after winning the Serie A title in the 2018/19 season, the fifth in as many years as coach of the Bianconeri.

The 52-year-old, who has been lecturing for English, has been rumored to be taking up the job of coach at several clubs, particularly at Bayern Munich who sacked Niko Kovac and Arsenal sacked by Unai Emery.

But former AC Milan coach Allegri says he will wait until the end of this 2019/20 season to return to the football world as coach of any club.

“When will I be back? In June. I don’t know if you consider this vacation or not. Giovanni [Branchini, Allegri’s agent] and I made that decision right away. As soon as we broke up with Juventus, we decided to take a year off,” Allegri said.

“Next year will be an important year. Important for the decision he will make in the end and I have to prepare for it. After a year off and five years at Juventus, I don’t want to go back and do a bad job. That would destroy me.”

“I’m going to a course to learn English here in Milan. I speak well, but the listening part seems more difficult to me. I’m talking to someone who helps me out by talking slower, and then I come to understand.”
