Alonso coach in Monchengladbach, according to Bild
Xabi Alonso will be appointed the new coach of Borussia Monchengladbach, as the successor of Marco Rose, from next season, according to the German newspaper “Bild”.
This is expected to be the big step in the coaching career for the former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich footballer.
The 39-year-old is the coach of Real Sociedad B, which competes in Segunda B, or the third level of football in Spain.
According to “Bild”, although it seems very close to moving to the Bundesliga, in one of the most famous teams in Germany, Alonso has not yet rejected the offer of the Basque club to renew the contract.
The project is appealing to Alonso, who would be catapulted from the lower league in Spain to the German football elite, at the head of a team that has played in the Champions League and is now vying for a place in the Europa League.
Alonso is doing a great job in Real Sociedad’s second team, even though he does not have one of the most brilliant generations available.
