Arsenal escape defeat against West Ham with a magnificent comeback
Arsenal managed to take a 3: 3 draw from nothing against West Ham, avoiding defeat with a fighting game as they were losing 3-0 after half an hour of play in London.
Two own goals from Tomas Soucek and Craig Dawson and a header from Alexandre Lacazette enabled Arsenal to make a sensational comeback at the London Olympic Stadium after Jesse Lingard Jarrod Bowen and Thomas Soucek scored three quick goals for the locals.
Although Arsenal dominated the ball most of the time, West Ham made fun of playing open matches that allowed both teams to create many scoring chances.
In a span of 17 minutes, David Moye’s team created a three-goal lead when Lingard, Bowen and Soucek scored.
But the fact that the locals continued to play open game, gave the Gunners the opportunity to get back in the game.
Soucek scored in his own gate in an attempt to clear the ball in the 38th minute.
Dawson did the same when the scorpions scored an hour of play, giving Arsenal reason and encouraging him to fight to avoid defeat.
About eight minutes before the end, Lacazette scored a beautiful header after a cross by Pepe, completing the return of Mikel Arteta’s team.
This draw comes after the loss against Manchester United for West Ham, who remains in fifth place in the Premier League with 49 points, two less than the top four.
Arsenal, meanwhile, continue to be ninth with 42 points, nine away from Chelsea in the top four.
