Barcelona destroys Sociedad and is only four points away from the leader of La Liga

Barcelona have completely beaten Real Sociedad by convincingly defeating them 6: 1, in a decisive match for them in the race for the title in La Liga on Sunday.

Sergino Dest twice and Antoine Griezmann, Lionel Messi and Ousmane Dembele once scored for the big victory of Ronald Koeman’s team in San Sebastian, while Ander Barrenetxea Muguruza scored the consolation goal for the locals.

Although extending their dominance early on, Barca had to wait until the 37th minute to break the ice when Griezmann scored after a rebound from the goalkeeper, who had previously awaited Dembele’s strike in a fantastic action.

Dest doubled the lead five minutes later when he was miraculously served by Messi.

The American defender scored the second personal goal and the third for Barcelona in the 53rd minute, this time after an assist by Jordi Alba.

Messi took the visitors’ lead to four when he escaped the trap of the offside position and beat the goalkeeper from close range after receiving a fantastic long ball from Sergio Busquets.

Dembele gave another shot to the locals in the 71st minute, when he scored an individual goal for 5: 0.

Muguruza scored the consolation goal for Sociedad after a beautiful action of the locals, bombing the gate of Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Messi sealed Barca’s great victory by scoring from close range, after a usual combination with Alban in the last moments of the match.

In the next match, Barcelona faces Real Valladolid.
