Barkley and Willian verbally confront Chelsea’s missing penalty against Valencia

Ross Barkley and Willian had a verbal confrontation before Chelsea’s missed penalty against Valencia at Stamford Bridge.

The English midfielder did not want to listen to his team-mate and was determined to kick the penalty in the 87th minute.

However, the 25-year-old Barkley remained red-faced after losing the penalty and Chelsea were defeated 0-1 in the opening game of the season in the Champions League.

Barkley stayed on the penalty ball from the start before Tammy Abraham and Willian came to talk to him about who would hit him.

Abraham left immediately, but the Brazilian Willian needed to be persuaded to let Barkley take the penalty kick.

The former Everton midfielder even gave Willian some hand gestures to tell him to rest and he took over the blow but was embarrassed.

Barkley struck a penalty over the gate and Frank Lampard’s team were defeated 1-0 by the Spanish team thanks to Rodrigo’s goal (74 ?).
