Batistuta makes fun of Ronaldo after record: ‘Resting is easier…’
Gabriel Batistuta has congratulated Cristiano Ronaldo on equaling his Serie A record, but could not do so without stabbing the Portuguese superstar Juventus, suggesting that it is easier to achieve when he breaks.
Ronaldo scored a goal in Juventus’ 2:1 win over SPAL on Saturday in the league.
It was the 11th consecutive game the 35-year-old scored in the Bianconeri jersey this season in the league.
And that goal implies that Ronaldo has equaled Batistuta’s record of the 1994/95 season with Fiorentina and Fabio Quagliarella’s last season with Sampdoria.
Batigol chose Twitter to congratulate Ronaldo, in a way…
“Congratulations Ronaldo for the record! The only problem is that I find it easier to do it when you rest,” Batistuta wrote.
Lawrence was referring to the fact that Ronaldo was fired in last week’s match against Brescia, while breaking his record with Foirentina appearing in all the first games of that season.
Quagliarella also missed a game during his perfect run, so Batistuta remains the only player to have scored in 11 consecutive matches rather than 11 consecutive appearances, as well as in the first 11 games of the season.
