Champions League: Ronaldo two goals behind Del Piero
Cristiano Ronaldo is following Alessandro Del Piero with two goals less to become Juventus’ top scorer in the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Excluding the old European Cup format and preliminary rounds or group stages, Ronaldo is currently third on the Bianconeri’s list of top scorers in the knockout stages of the competition.
The European Cup became the Champions League in 1992 and Juventus won the race in 1995-96.
With Ronaldo being the club’s only top scorer in the knockout stages of the last two seasons, he has already climbed to second place with Filippo Inzaghi.
Paulo Dybala was back in training today and is expected to be in the squad to face Porto tomorrow, with the Argentine currently in third place with David Trezeguet and Gonzalo Higuain.
