Chelsea are aiming for Aguero’s surprise transfer
English club Chelsea are reportedly doing a shocking move for Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero.
According to English media Daily Mail, Aguero hopes to stay in the Premier League next season, even if he leaves Manchester City.
The striker’s contract expires in June and no talks have been held on new terms.
Barcelona are believed to have contacted Aguero about a possible free transfer.
But Barca’s new president, Joan Laporta, will have to compete for his signing – with Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea reportedly monitoring developments with the 32-year-old.
Chelsea are long-time admirers of Sergio and tried to sign him a decade ago when he moved from Atletico Madrid to City.
The Argentine, who is City’s record scorer, has struggled with injury and illness this season – making just five appearances for Pep Guardiola in all competitions.
Aguero has expressed frustration over the lack of opportunities since he returned to better physical condition in January and his departure in the summer making them inevitable.
