Documents proving that Barcelona paid the company to criticize some players
Spanish television station Cadena SER has released several documents proving that I3Ventures was behind some social network accounts, despite Barcelona denying it on Monday.
Cadena SER reports that the company with which Barcelona had a deal, I3Ventures, was tasked with promoting certain club directors, while tarnishing the reputation of some individuals who had certain relationships with other members of the board.
The deal between Barcelona and E3Ventures was signed three years ago for a low amount of money, since a larger payment would have to have been obtained by club shareholders.
The company reportedly had to create fake accounts on social networks and then post messages to praise the work of club leaders, while criticizing the actions of some close to the club, such as Lionel Messi, Gerard Pique, Pep Guardiola, Victor Font’s Cavi.
Barcelona executives acknowledged that they had an agreement with the company in question, but denied that the company had any connection to the social media accounts it was reporting on.
However, Cadena SER has published a document proving that I3Ventures were behind unofficial accounts disseminating information in an attempt to create a more negative image of some former players and current players, former coaches and former presidents.
At the same time, Cadena SER documents prove that the same accounts were used to disseminate information to promote the work done by President Josep Maria Bartomeu and other leaders of Barcelona.
The six Facebook accounts managed by I3Ventures are: Més que un club (66,000 followers), Respeto y Deporte (56,000), Alter Sports (27,000), Sport Leaks (21,000), Justicia y Diálogo en el Deporte (8,500) and Jaume, a movie of terror (5,000).
The 36-page document published by Cadena Ser is created by the company I3Ventures itself, which sent such reports to Barcelona executives periodically. This document includes information that only the administrators of those accounts would know.
